The important quarter-final match of the Leagues Cup 2023 was played today as Inter Miami beat Charlotte FC 4-0 in the match with legend of the game Lionel Messi scoring the fourth goal of the match to take Inter Miami to the Semi-final.
After a tough run in the ongoing Major League Soccer (MLS) for the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham owned Inter Miami, the club in the summer brought in some hugely talented and popular players.
As a result, the team has seen a surge in performance with results going their way while also their star summer signing shining brightly for the Miami side.
Inter Miami vs Charlotte FC Leagues Cup 2023 Highlights
Inter Miami have so far had a terrific run in the Leagues Cup, reaching the quarter-final, where they were up against Major League Soccer rival Charlotte FC.
Miami started the match with all of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi starting for them.
Josef Martinez scored the first goal of the match when he converted the penalty kick at the 12th minute of the match. The lead was doubled just 20 minutes later as Robert Taylor converted from a brilliant assist by DeAndre Yedlin.
The first half ended with Inter Miami leading by 2-0. In the 2nd half, despite Charlotte FC trying their best, it was one of their player who put the ball at the back of net, but it was their goal-post, resulting in a 78th minute own goal from Adilson Malanda.
The final and the fourth goal of the match was scored by one of the greatest footballer of the generation, Lionel Messi to send Inter Miami into the semi-finals of the Leagues Cup 2023.
