In a fierce contest in the ongoing Leagues Cup 2023, David Beckham owned Inter Miami beat Orlando City FC to go past the round of 32 to make it to the round of 16 of the cup tournament.
It was a fairly even contest in the first half between both the teams. The Argentine FIFA World Cup 2022 winning captain Lionel Messi gave Inter Miami lead early in the 7th minute of the match.
But Orlando City FC did not back down there and found the equalizer goal 10 minutes later in the 17th minute of the match. Uruguayan midfielder César Araújo scored the goal for the Orlando side. Both the teams went into the tunnel at the end of the first half with 1 goal each.
However, Miami's striker Josef Martinez had different plan in the 2nd half when he came all guns blazing and gave Inter Miami the lead in the match once again in the 51st minute of the match.
Orlando City FC tried their best to fightback, but Lionel Messi with his 2nd goal of the night buried the game. Messi completed his brace on the 72nd minute of the match.
In the end, both Miami and Orlando see out the match with Inter Miami winning it 3-1 to progress to the round of 16 of the competition.
