Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan Super Giant is set to sign centre-back Hector Yuste for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-2024 season as a replacement for the outgoing Carl McHugh.
The transfer market in India is heating up as the days go by as the teams are starting to shape-up for the first day of the Indian Super League season that likely on the third week of the September month.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant set to sign Spanish defender Hector Yuste
According to various reports, Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan Super Giant is set to sign experienced Spanish centre-back Hector Yuste ahead of the new season as a like-for-like replacement of the outgoing Irishman Carl McHugh.
Carl McHugh is set to sign for the FC Goa team for the upcoming season after his game-time has been compromised ahead of the new season with Mohun Bagan strengthening in midfielder position.
Hector Yuste will sign a year long deal with the Kolkata based football club and will link-up with the squad as soon as possible, most likely ahead of the AFC Cup.
Hector is a youth product of FC Cartagena and started his career back in the year 2007. He has also played for the likes of UD Salamanca, Granada CF. He had various loan spells from Granada where he played for the likes of Cádiz CF, Racing Santander, Hércules CF, RCD Mallorca.
He joined Mallorca permanently in the year 2015. He then moved away from Spain as he joined Apollon Limassol in Cypriot league and featured for Omonia Nikosia most recently.
His contract expired with the club in 2023 and is currently a free agent. Most interestingly, Hector played against Manchester United in the Europa League last season.
He will certainly be a huge addition to the Mohun Bagan squad as he comes in a straight like-for-like replacement for Carl McHugh and can play in both centre-back and defensive midfield position.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant have built a super team for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League with huge additions such as Jason Cummings, Armando Sadiku, Anirudh Thapa, Sahal Abdul Samad being notable.
Meanwhile, captain Pritam Kotal has also left the team to join Kerala Blasters as part of a player swap deal for Sahal Samad.
