After the first match between the Delhi FC and Hyderabad FC had ended in a draw, the 2nd match saw a similar situation as Bangladesh Army Football Team delivered a brilliant comeback to draw the match against East Bengal right at the death.

The match played between the Bangladesh Army side and the Red and Gold brigade at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan, ended in a 2-2 draw despite East Bengal taking a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Starting with a pretty good squad, the East Bengal fans expected a brilliant performance today against a team against whom their bitter rival Mohun Bagan scored 5 goals with a mix of youth and senior team players.

East Bengal opened the scoring as expected in the match. In the 32nd minute of the match, Nishu Kumar was brought down in the box by a Bangladesh Army player and midfielder Saul Crespo made no mistake and convert the penalty to take 1-0 lead.

And just right towards the end of the first-half, East Bengal doubled their lead through Javi Siverio, the tower of a man, formerly from Hyderabad FC, converted a cross through header to make it 2-0 before half-time for Red and Gold brigade.

But, the tides took a huge turn in the 2nd half as Bangladesh Army Football Team came out all guns blazing vs East Bengal FC. They kept on attacking on East Bengal's half until Nishu Kumar got sent off in the 67th minute of the match for using his elbow off the ball.

While Bangladesh Army had the momentum already, things got worse for Emami East Bengal. However, things were looking like that East Bengal would survive with their 2 goals lead. But, come the 88th minute, Sahariar Emon scored the first goal for Army side after newly arrived Jordan Elsey's clearance was only upto the Bangladesh Army footballer.

Then the real drama happened, Bangladesh Army Football Team equalized right at the death. When the match was 7 minutes into the injury time, Meraj Pradhan capitalised on Harmanjot Khabra's mistake and took a couple of shots that were saved by Prabhsukhan Gill, but eventually he found the net and equalized and also got one point for his team.

This match was a real drama for the fans in attendance, however, it was also not expected. Nishu Kumar's red card certainly played a huge role in the outcome of the match. With that, East Bengal currently sits 2nd in the points table with 1 point behind arch-rival Mohun Bagan. Their next match will be the blockbuster Kolkata Derby on the 12th of August.
