After their United States of America (USA) Champions' tour, Manchester United FC returned home today as the Red Devils squared off against Ligue 1 side RC Lens in a friendly match at the Old Trafford stadium.

Manchester United had mixed bag of performance in their USA tour as part of their pre-season camp. They beat Arsenal FC in their first match of pre-season in the USA but then lost to both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in their next two matches.
But the Red Devils lead by their manager Erik Ten Hag and new captain Bruno Fernandes returned home and picked up a brilliant 3-1 win against RC Lens.
Before the match began at the Old Trafford, the club presented it's new signing, striker Rasmus Hojlund to the crowds present in the stadium.
Lens took the lead in the match at the 23rd minute of the match when Florin Sotoca scored from long way out through a Diogo Dalot miss pass and Andre Onana was out of his line as part of his role to play as a sweeper keeper.
But, Manchester United did fought and they did very well. At the start of the 2nd half, Marcus Rashford scored off a brilliant through ball from Antony to equalize for the Red Devils.
Minutes later, even Antony found the back of net as he scored the 2nd Goal for United at the 53rd minute of the match. Brazilian star midfielder Casemiro then a couple of minutes later scored the 3rd for Manchester United as he headed home Manchester United off a beautiful cross from left-back Luke Shaw.
RC Lens created a couple of opportunities after conceding the third goal, but they failed to score the all important goals. United also put in pressure on Lens backline towards the end of the match, but they couldn't also further add to the scoreline, meaning, it ended 3-1 win for Manchester United.
United will go once again in another pre-season friendly match against Athletic Club Bilbao, but it is likely that the reserve team might play this match. Manchester United will play their first ever Premier League 2023-2024 season match against Wolves on the 15th of August at midnight 12:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).
