Indian Super League's (ISL) one of the most historic side East Bengal FC has completed the signing of Odisha FC midfielder Saul Crespo, according to various reports, for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-2024 season.

With Head Coach Carles Cuadrat confirm for the next season and his deputy was announced today by East Bengal club, the club is currently moving in right direction and trying to get all the possible deals over the line as soon as possible.

With various reports linking East Bengal club to various ISL experienced foreign players, it seems like that Odisha FC's Spanish midfielder Saul Crespo could become the club's 2nd foreign signing of the season after reported Borja Herrera completed some days ago.

Saul Crespo is a very versatile midfielder who took a great responsibility of the Odisha FC midfield this summer with the likes of Raynier Fernandes and Victor Rodriguez.

Saul featured in total of 26 competitive matches for Odisha FC this season and contributed with 3 goals and 2 assists along with his sturdy midfield performance. With the likes of Jordan O' Doherty and Alex Lima set to leave, Borja and Saul could be the perfect replacement.

Meanwhile for East Bengal FC, this season too wasn't quite a convincing one for the Red and Gold brigade. They finished 9th with 19 points in 20 matches and finished ahead of NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC. They have also sacked head coach Stephen Constantine after that and would be for a new start under ISL winning coach Carles Cuadrat.

East Bengal FC has entered the transfer market fully prepared to build up a strong team for next season. After finalizing the deal with head coach Carles Cuadrat, they straightaway went ahead and managed to complete the deal for midfielder Borja Herrera, beating FC Goa to his signature.

The club is also in talks with Hyderabad FC attacker Javier Siverio to lead their line next season with the likes of Cleiton Silva and Mahesh Singh already in the team. Meanwhile Indian winger Nandha Kumar Sekar is also set to join the team while many are linking FC Goa defender Fares Arnout and former Goa defender James Donachie for next season in defensive positions.
