East Bengal Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-2023 Performance

East Bengal, just like everyone's expectation, did not show the quality to challenge for a place in the Hero ISL Playoffs, i.e. the top 6. However, ever since entering the Indian Super League in the year 2020, this season's 9th place finish is the best finish in the Indian Super League for the club.

East Bengal maintained a poor run of form in both home and away fixtures. In the 10 matches played at home, they won 2 matches, draw 1 match and lost 7 matches. As for away fixtures, the red and yellow army won 4 matches and lost 6 matches. Of the 4 wins, one of them is their big win of the season against ISL 2022-2023 League Winners' Shield winners Mumbai City FC.

Some of the star performers for the team in this season's Indian Super League are Cleiton Silva, another attacking winger Naorem Mahesh Singh, young Indian defender Lalchungnunga, who is currently on loan from I-League side Sreenidi Deccan FC and will join the team permanently this coming summer transfer window.
