After a below average performance in the English Premier League, finishing just 5th behind the likes of champions Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United, Liverpool FC is now looking to bounce strongly in the coming season and is strengthening their team ahead of new season as the club is set to sign Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool FC set to sign playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig

Liverpool FC have now reportedly reached terms with German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig to sign the Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of the new season.

Renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Liverpool FC and Dominik Szoboszlai both the parties have agreed on a long-term deal that will see the Hungarian international midfielder play infront the Anfield till the year 2028 after Liverpool FC triggered the 70 Million Euro release clause in Szoboszlai's contract at RB Leipzig.

Dominik Szoboszlai shone to fame with his stint with the Australian Bundesliga club RB Salzburg. He signed for Salzburg in 2017 and was a huge presence in their midfield. Seeing his progress, sister club RB Leipzig poached the midfielder before anyone could.


Leipzig paid Salzburg 22 Million Euros in 2021 to secure the playmaker's services. He served the side from then till the most recent 2022-2023 Bundesliga season.

Liverpool FC had shown an interest from some time and wanted to sign the player. They waited for the transfer window to open and then officially triggered the release clause in his contract.

Dominik Szoboszlai started his career with the Videoton club in Hungary. He then joined FÅ‘nix Gold and remained with them till 2015 before joining the MTK Budapest, where he spent one season and was signed by RB Salzburg to play for their reserve side. He has also represented the Hungary national team in U17, U19 and U19 level before he officially made his senior debut in 2019.

As for the Jurgen Klopp led side, the team is looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season after a not so good season where they finished 5th and will play in the Europa League this coming season.

The team is looking to bolster it's midfield with new signings rumoured to be Khéphren Thuram from OGC Nice, Manu Koné from Borussia Mönchengladbach and young midfielder Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo.

Players such as Federico Chiesa, Kenny Tete and Micky van de Ven have also been linked with the club but there is no advance talks with these players at the moment.
