East Bengal set to sign Kerala Blasters' Golden Glove winning goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill

East Bengal FC, who have not enjoyed a stress-free run in the Indian Super League since its entry in the top tier Indian football league in 2020, faced a similar situation last season as well.

While the team did much better than their first season in the ISL, they were still lacking some quality players in important positions, and one of them was the goalkeeper position.

The club had the services of the likes of Pawan Kumar, Kamaljit Singh and Naveen Kumar. However, none of them were very secure between the sticks.

As such, the goalkeeper position is one of the key position that the team is looking to strengthen. And now, according to a report by a very trustworthy IFTWC, East Bengal FC is set to acquire Kerala Blasters' golden globe winning Prabhsukhan Gill as their first choice keeper.

With the rise of young keeper Sachin Suresh, the club was open to listen to offers. And as per various reports, East Bengal FC is paying Kerala Blasters 1.2 crore transfer fee to get the services of the prolific goalkeeper, that will make him the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of Indian football. Gill will reportedly sign a 3 year deal with the club.

Gill joined Kerala Blasters in 2020 from Bengaluru FC and then broke into as their starting keeper after a long-term injury to then first-choice keeper Albino Gomes. Prabhsukhan Gill has featured in 40 ISL matches and has 11 clean sheets to his name. He also won the ISL Golden Glove in the 2021-2022 season.
