Indian Super League's defending Champion's Mumbai City FC will take on West-Coast rival FC Goa in the 4th match of the Indian Super League 2021-2022 season.
It will be Mumbai City FC hosting the FC Goa team in the 4th match of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-2022 season in Fatorda on the 22nd of November.
Mumbai City FC will be defending the title that they won last season by beating ATK Mohun Bagan in the Final of the ISL 2020-2021 season. While FC Goa bowed out to Mumbai City FC via penalties in the semi-finals.
Mumbai City FC have made several changes to their team this season. The biggest being the Head Coach Sergio Lobera parting ways due to higher role in City Football Group (CFG), while Des Buckingham will take over as the Head Coach from him, coming of from the A-League champions Melbourne City, where he was working as assistant manager.
They also made additions to the squad, the biggest being Apuia from NorthEast United, for whom, the team paid record transfer fee. While they have also brought in Igor Angulo from FC Goa, who won the Golden Boot last season. Hugo Boumous has departed the team to join rivals ATK Mohun Bagan. Cassinho, Ygor Catatau, Brad Inman along with Igor are the new faces foreign players.
While it is a complete different story at FC Goa. The Goan team have managed to hold on their core of the team, except for some departures.
As mentioned above, Igor Angulo has joined Mumbai City FC, while AFC quota player James Donachie, who was on loan with Goa, has returned back to Australia. They have also sold Ishan Pandita to Jamshedpur FC as the Indian forward found it hard to break into the first team.
And as replacement, FC Goa have signed Dylan Fox from NorthEast United in defence while another Spaniard in Airam Cabrera will lead the frontline for Goa. Other than that, they have promoted number of youth players from the reserve squad.
