Hugo Boumous raises transfer speculation with his latest Instagram post

It's been nearly one month since the transfer window opened on June 9. Initially, though it was a little quite, but as days are progressing, teams are all getting busy in their player recruitment process, with numerous transfer rumours on social media.

And one such rumour is Mumbai City FC's Hugo Boumous to Indian Super League team ATK Mohun Bagan. ATK Mohun Bagan have been chasing Hugo Boumous for quite some months now but due to the player already having another year left in his contract, it has been quite tough for the Kolkata Giants to get him to the City of Joy.

With ATK Mohun Bagan were unable to agree a deal, they stopped pursuing Hugo Boumous. But it picked up pace again when Hugo Boumous posted a image of his on his Instagram account with the post having a caption that says "Where's next."

And right after this fans started guessing that it's about his next club. Let us also let you know that, City Football Group, the owners of Manchester City, has a majority stake in Mumbai City FC. They are quite impressed with Hugo's performance in the Indian Super League 2020-2021 season and want Hugo Boumous to play for another City Football Group team.

However, on June 7, 2021, reports spread that, even though Hugo Boumous was not initially interested in moving to ATK Mohun Bagan, is now interested to join the green and maroon army.

But fuel was added to the fire when ATK Mohun Bagan confirmed the departure of their Spanish creative midfielder Edu Garcia. Fans came up with the opinion that Hugo Boumous will replace Edu Garcia in the green and maroon brigade.

However, it is being said that, even though Hugo Boumous is interested in a move to ATK Mohun Bagan, City Football Group, who will have the last say, are still adamant to it and want Hugo Boumous to sign for another City Football Group team either in France, Australia, America or Japan.

It will be interesting to see where will the French/Moroccan attacking midfielder will go to, but it is very much likely that he won't be playing for Mumbai City FC this season.
