Gokulam Kerala FC: Youngest Goalscorers Ever in Club History

Gokulam Kerala FC, a name that has come out as the best football club in the Southern state of India, Kerala. The club won a national league, even before Kerala Blasters, who are a much better team compare to Gokulam Kerala FC, obviously quality and financial wise.

Gokulam Kerala FC just recently won the the 2nd tier of Indian Football I-League. Many were proved to be superstar for the club on their way to I-League glory.

Starting with coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese, players like Denny Antwi and youngsters like Emil Benny played a key role in the club's success in the I-League this season.

Gokulam Kerala FC was founded on 2017 after Sree Gokulam Group won the corporate bidding for addition of a new team in the I-League. They represent Kozhikode, Kerala in the I-League.

Even though their inaugural season was not good one, but managed to beat two of the greatest football clubs in India, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.

The club's first major trophy was the Durand Cup which they won in 2019 defeating Mohun Bagan in the finals of the tournament.

And finally in 2021under the leadership of Vincenzo Alberto Annese, the club finally won their first ever national league, the I-League, thus qualified for AFC Cup, and became the first ever Kerala club to do so. The club has gained instant success in its short stint, from the Durand Cup to I-League.

Today, Indian Football News will take a look at the youngest goalscorers for the Kerala club in its short stint from 2017 to 2021.

Baoringdao Bodo

The very first name on this list is Baoringdao Bodo. The Assam born left winger currently holds the record of the youngest goalscorer ever for Gokulam Kerala FC.

Baoringdao Bodo spent a season on loan at Gokulam Kerala FC during the 2018-2019 season from Indian Super League club Chennaiyin FC.

The record goal came against NEROCA FC on October 31st, 2018. When he scored the goal, his age was 19 years and 14 days. Eventually the match ended in 1-1 draw.

Baoringdao Bodo currently is no longer part of either of Gokulam Kerala or Chennaiyin FC, the Assamese players currently features for Odisha FC in the ISL.

Emil Benny

Gokulam Kerala FC one of the rising star this season, Emil Benny finds himself second place in this list. The youngster was promoted into the first team this season, and he proved why he was promoted as the local boy managed to score 3 goals and 2 assists this season.

His goal against TRAU FC on 13th February 2021 puts him on 2nd place as he was aged 20 years 4 months and 25 days when he scored that goal.

The local lad still has a year left on his contract, but with this performance this season, he garnered a lot of interest from the Indian Super League clubs and a move to the top division is very well expected for the upcoming season.

Christian Sabah

Third on the list is the Ghanaian left winger Christian Sabah. The Ghanaian winger was part of the Malabrians during the 2018-2019 I-League season.

His goal against Red and Gold army East Bengal on December 8, 2018 puts him on third place. He was aged 20 years 5 month and 23 days when he scored the goal but couldn't help his team to victory in that match as they lost 3-1.

Ever since that one season with Gokulam Kerala, Christian Sabah has been a free agent. Even though he was signed by Mohammedan Sporting for the 2019-2020 season, he was released by them a few days later.

Gani Nigam

Gani Nigam finds himself fourth on this list. Gani Nigam is a former Indian Super League club FC Pune City's product. He was signed by Gokulam Kerala FC during 2018-2019 season on free transfer.

Gani Nigam's goal against Shillong Lajong FC has put in 4th place. He was 20 years 6 months and 11 days old then when he scored the goal on a winning cause.

After that one season with the Kerala club, he joined new Indian Super League club Hyderabad FC for the 2019-2020 season, but he currently features for I-League side Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Kamo Bayi

Next on the list is Ivory Coast forward Kamo Bayi, fully known as Kamo Stéphane Bayi. His goal on the 4th December 2017 against Chennai City FC puts him fifth on the list. By that time, he was only 21 years 3 months and 17 days old.

Bayi started his professional football career with Nigerian club Akwa Starlets before moving to India to sign for George Telegraph to play in the Calcutta Football League.

He signed for Gokulam Kerala FC on November 2017 for 2017-2018 football season. After that he featured for multiple Kolkata clubs but currently plays in his home country for FC San Pedro.

Gokulam Kerala FC have in the past have produced a lot of quality players in terms of local Indian players and also foreigners. Their success in winning I-League means a big achievement for them, and who knows, they may soon overtake Kerala Blasters as the top Kerala football club in the coming years.
