The Indian 2nd tier football league, the I-League 2023-2024 season resumes tomorrow i.e. 19th of December with the matchweek 12 of the season, nearing the mid-season of the competition this season.

The matchweek 12 of the I-League 2023-2024 season commences on the 19th for December with a single match. The first match of the matchweek will see the 2nd placed Sreenidi Deccan FC faces off against Gokulam Kerala FC, who finds themselves only at 6th place in the points table, 6 points off their opponent.

The 2nd matchday will be the 21st of December, after a day rest on 20th, when Inter Kashi will try to continue their winning momentum and charge up the league table as they faces off against Aizawl FC, who also would look for a win to get into the race for promotion to the Indian Super League 2024-2025 season as the champions of the I-League 2023-2024 season. They currently sits 4th, 3 places ahead of Inter Kashi.

The 3rd match of the matchweek 12 of the I-League will see the relegation battle heat-up as the 10th placed Rajasthan United FC will host bottom placed TRAU FC on the 22nd of December. The I-League action will continue also on the 23rd December with 5th placed Shillong Lajong FC set to take on Namdhari FC.

The matchweek 12 then would conclude with a double-header on the 24th December. The first match of the day will see Delhi FC take on Real Kashmir FC. Delhi FC would be hoping get some point and get away from the relegation fight, whereas Real Kashmir FC, who are currently 3rd in the league table, would be hoping for a win as their pursue for I-League championship and a promotion to the top division, the Indian Super League (ISL).

The 2nd match of the day will then see the league leaders Mohammedan Sporting Club in action to conclude the matchweek 12 with a match against NEROCA FC, who finds themselves in relegation zone as of writing this. With the likes of Sreenidi Deccan FC and Real Kashmir lurking behind them after a draw against Churchill Brothers FC Goa, Mohammedan SC would be hoping for a win to keep a distance between themselves and the above mentioned teams.
