The Indian football 2nd-tier I-League football action continues today with a double header scheduled to excite all the football fans, that includes a top of the table clash in their bid to win the I-League 2023-2024 season and get promoted to the Indian Super League next season.
The matchweek 8 of the I-League concludes with a crucial double header. In the first match of the day, it will be the newly promoted I-League club Shillong Lajong FC vs Rajasthan United FC, while the 2nd match of the day could very well decide the future of the league as the two table toppers Sreenidi Deccan FC takes on Mohammedan Sporting Club (SC).

Meanwhile, the 2nd match of the day is one of the most crucial match of the I-League 2023-2024 season. It's the two table toppers who face and a win for any of the two could give a good advantage in the race for promotion to the ISL. It will be Mohammedan Sporting Club vs Sreenidi Deccan FC from 7 P.M onwards.
As of writing this, Sreenidi Deccan FC currently sits at the top of the table with 16 points from 7 matches. Sreenidi have won 5 matches of the 7 matches and they lost 1 and draw 1 match.
As for the Mohammedan Sporting Club (SC), they have an advantage in the competition. Mohammedan is currently placed 2nd in the league table with 16 points, but in 6 matches. The side from Kolkata have won 5 matches and drawn one match against Shillong Lajong as mentioned above. This will be a crucial match for both the teams as a win today could very well give them an advantage as they race towards the ISL promotion.
