I-League 3 2023-2024 Diamond Harbour FC vs SC Bengaluru

The I-League 3, the fourth tier of Indian football, has reached its last matchday of the group phase with a double header scheduled for today, that includes the most important match for Group D between the Diamond Harbour FC and Sporting Club Bengaluru, the result of which will determine which team would progress to the next round.

The group phase of the I-League 3 will be concluded today with a double header. As of writing this, already four groups fixtures have been completed and we already have 4 out of the 5 teams that will qualify for the 2nd round of the I-League 3 2023-2024 season.

The matches of Group A, Group B, Group C and Group E have already been concluded with Sporting Club de Goa, KLASA FC, Dempo Sports Club and Kerala United FC having already qualified as group topper respectively.

Group D still hangs in the balance as the two teams still battle it out for the top spot. Both the SC Bengaluru and Diamond Harbour FC have maintained perfect record in the group so far, winning all 3 of their matches respectively. It's now time for the two teams to face off for the top spot.

Both teams currently have 9 points from 3 wins in 3 matches. SC Bengaluru is marginally ahead of Diamond Harbour FC thanks to better goal difference. While Sporting Club Bengaluru have scored 11 goals and conceded only 1, Diamond Harbour FC have conceded none but have scored only 6 goals.

The all-important match Group D will be played following the one other remaining match of the group. Doaba United and Vatika FC faces off in the opening match of the day from 9 A.M while the most important match between Diamond Harbour FC and SC Bengaluru will be played from 3 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST).

Note that, the five group toppers from the group stage will progress to the next round, who will then play against each other and then the top 3 teams in that points table will be promoted to the I-League 2, the third tier of Indian football, which will be played in early 2024.
