The Kolkata fans are suddenly worried about the weather conditions as the Indian Super League 2023-2024 match between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Punjab FC approaches fast with the kick-off scheduled at 8 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
The ongoing Indian Super League match between Odisha FC and the Chennaiyin FC had to be suspended a couple of minutes after the match had started to due to thunderstorm in Bhuvaneshwar, the venue for the match.
As the match was getting settled in, both the teams were getting more into grove of the condition with heavy rain. The match started with persistent rain at the Kalinga Stadium. Now, with both Odisha and West Bengal neighbour state, the fans in Kolkata are also worried about the weather conditions as the match between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Punjab FC will be played at the Vivekanand Yuva Bharati Krirangan.
The weather condition in Bidhannagar to be fair is not as bad as Odisha. Though there has been rain for the last couple of days, it's not has been as terrible. The weather is likely to remain the same during the match and heavy rain is not going to be a problem.
Meanwhile, the match between Odisha FC and Chennaiyin FC remains to be suspended due to heavy rain with lightning. (Update: The match has resumed between Odisha FC and Chennaiyin FC).
What is Suspended meaning in football?
In football, if a match is suspended, it's because of some unforeseen circumstances. However, suspended does not mean that the match is completely called off. Instead, if the situation is better because of which the match was suspended, the match will resume from where it was suspended or completely from the start if the match was suspended before even started.
