The 2nd match of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-2024 season will be played between the hosts Odisha FC and the visiting side Chennaiyin FC on the 23rd of the September 2023, after a blockbuster opening match between the Kerala Blasters FC and Bengaluru FC.
Odisha FC would be looking to continue its brilliant performance from last season when they made it to the Hero ISL Playoffs last season under the guidance of Joseph Gombau. The last Chennaiyin FC reached the final of the Indian Super League, Coyle was the club's coach. Chennaiyin FC would be looking to return back to glory days again under Owen Coyle after finishing lowly 8th in the ISL points table last season.
Chennaiyin have also made a wholesale of changes in their foreign department, with 6 foreign players, one of whom is a former Chennaiyin player Rafael Crivellaro, who has returned to side after spending last season with Jamshedpur FC. The club has also lost the services of their captain Anirudh Thapa.
