Bengaluru FC sign Curtis Main ISL transfer rumours 2023-2024

After the departure of their main man upfront Roy Krishna, Bengaluru FC, the one time Indian Super League champion, has today officially announced the signing of their striker, the English striker Curtis Main from the Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen on a free transfer.

Despite having a quality striker like Roy Krishna, the goals were hard to come by for the Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-2023 season, atleast in the first half of the season.

Despite that, after a strong comeback in the 2nd half helped Bengaluru FC not only reach the Hero ISL Playoffs, but also reached the final getting past Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City FC in the process. However, they lost to ATK Mohun Bagan in the final.

Their main striker Roy Krishna was only able to score 6 goals in the Indian Super League. Young Shivasakti Narayan then stepped up in the 2nd half and he also scored 6 goals, where as legendary Indian striker Sunil Chhetri was below par.

The club let of Krishna earlier, who has now joined Odisha FC, and now they have got their main man. English striker Curtis Main will join the Blue as their top striker, who has proved track record of scoring goals.

He has scored 21 goals in the 133 Scottish Premiership appearances, 15 goals in the League One and 8 goals in League Two. He is also capable of providing assists when he is not scoring, which him a perfect replacement for Krishna.

While McHugh was with the team from 2016, Main joined the team in 2018 and played for about one and half season together. They both changed club in 2019 when McHugh came to India and Main joined Aberdeen.

Peter Hartley

Another Indian Super League player who has been a teammate of Curtis Main is former Jamshedpur FC captain Peter Hartley. The duo played together a considerable amount of game for Motherwell. Infact, the duo were signed on the same January transfer window in 2018 after Hartley's loan deal was made permanent. Hartley doesn't play in the Hero ISL anymore after his stint with Jamshedpur FC.
