Indian Super League club Odisha FC's new coach Sergio Lobera is looking to bring back another of his former player to his new team as according to latest reports, Odisha FC is looking to sign to former Mumbai City FC midfielder Cy Goddard for the new season.

The 26-years-old Japanese midfielder had a season loan spell with the Mumbai City FC during the 2020-2021 season joining on loan from Italian club Benevento.

Cy had a pretty average season for the Mumbai City side that won the League Winners Shield and Hero ISL Trophy that season. In 23 appearances, Cy Goddard only scored 1 goal and 2 assists.

After leaving the club, he has been on a bit of journeyman tour. He signed for Central Coast Mariners the next season from Benevento after his loan with Mumbai. After that, he then joined Detroit City next season to the play in the USL Championship.

And now according to report by the IFT News Media, Odisha FC is looking at signing Cy Goddard as a free agent for the new Indian football 2023-2024 season.

Odisha FC meanwhile has been on a bit of roll since after winning the Hero Super Cup and making it to the Hero ISL Playoffs. They have signed Sergio Lobera as their new coach, who has won the League Winners Shield and the ISL Trophy as well.

As because of winning the Hero Super Cup, Odisha FC will also play in the AFC Cup 2023-2024 season.

Odisha FC has been doing brilliant work in the transfer market this season. The club has already signed former Lobera students Mourtada Fall, Ahmed Jahouh, Lenny Rodrigues and Amey Ranawade. Other than, they already have the services of Diego Mauricio and recently added Roy Krishna to their forward line.

While the club was rumoured to sign Edu Garcia, but, with the club now requiring a AFC quota player and with only 1 foreign player signing left, the club has now shifted its focus towards signing the former Japan U17 International player Cy Goddard.
