In a shocking turn of events, Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters, who recently extended the contract of defender Ruivah Hormipam, is now negotiating a swap deal with Mohun Bagan Super Giant for their captain Pritam Kotal and transfer fee to the Kolkata based club.

The transfer window is set to open in Indian football tomorrow, on the 9th of June, but before that, teams are already working hard on improving their squad for next season.

However, in a very surprising turn of events, Kerala Blasters FC, who recently extended the contract of their star young defender Hormipam Ruivah (read Ruivah Hormipam), is now discussing a swap deal with the Mohun Bagan team to bring in their captain Pritam Kotal and also pay a huge transfer fee along with Hormipam. According to reports, Ruivah Hormipam has agreed to join the Green and Maroon team from Kolkata and now all that left is Kerala Blasters to agree terms with Kotal.

Kerala Blasters signed the young defender back in the year 2021 and has formed a wall in-front of Kerala Blasters' goal with Marko Leskovic as a solid defensive duo. Both the players commend each other very well which is why Kerala's defence is one of the best.

Hormipam has featured in 34 Indian Super League matches for the yellow army. He started his career with SAI Football Academy and played for Indian Arrows in the I-League. He jumped ship of ISL with Kerala Blasters after last featuring for the Roundglass Punjab FC, who is now getting promoted to the Indian Super League for this season.

Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan captain Pritam Kotal is one of the best defender in the country and a regular in the Indian team. Though he is a right-back, he has been leading the line as a centre-back for his club and guided them to the Indian Super League Trophy this year.

Kerala Blasters has so far been very active in this transfer window. He have already signed right-back Prabir Das and forward Jaushua Sotirio. They are also looking to bring in Dorny Romero, Dinesh Singh, Naresh Singh among the names that have been disclosed. Meanwhile, Prabhsukhan Gill and Nishu Kumar could be on their way to another Kolkata side East Bengal FC.

As for the green and maroon side and the defending Indian Super League champions Mohun Bagan, they are on the verge of getting the signature of Australian A-League winning striker Jason Cummings, while defender Anwar Ali has already agreed to join them. They are also in pursuit of Akash Mishra, who is very much likely to sign for Mumbai City FC instead.
