The Kerala Blasters FC has made a significant signing for the upcoming 2023-2024 season of the Indian Super League (ISL). The team has signed Jaushua Sotirio, an Australian forward from Newcastle Jets of the Australian A-League.
Newcastle Jets forward Jaushua Sotirio joins Kerala Blasters FC
The 26-year-old Sotirio is known for his incredible pace, excellent dribbling skills, and goal-scoring ability, which is expected to add a new dimension to the Kerala Blasters' attack.
Sotirio started his career with Western Sydney Wanderers in 2014 and scored 12 goals in 90 appearances in all competitions over five seasons with the club. He then joined Wellington Phoenix before moving to Newcastle Jets in 2022, where he made 24 appearances and scored three goals while contributing with four assists in the A-League and FFA Cup.
Kerala Blasters have been searching for a quick winger who can create opportunities and score goals, and Sotirio is the perfect fit. His ability to take on defenders and create space for his teammates is expected to give the team a new attacking dimension. With Sotirio on the team, Kerala Blasters will have a player who can score goals from any angle.
Sotirio will be joining a Kerala Blasters team that finished 5th in the previous season, winning ten games out of 20. Their top scorer was Dimitrios Diamantakos, who scored ten goals.
With the addition of Sotirio, Kerala Blasters' attack looks more dangerous than ever before, and the team's head coach, Ivan Vukomanović, will be looking to build a team that can challenge for the ISL title next season.
