Alvaro Vazquez transfer news: FC Goa completes deal with long-term target

FC Goa signs Alvaro Vazquez Indian Super League ISL 2022-2023

All debates of the much talked about transfer rumour about Spanish striker Alvaro Vazquez has finally come to an end as FC Goa managed to get the services of their former target.

Spanish striker Alvaro Vazquez was one of many highlight in what was a successful season for Kerala Blasters, which ended in an unfortunate loss in the Indian Super League 2021-2022 final against Hyderabad FC.

There was much talked about transfer debate about him as to where will the former Espanyol man would spend his next years. Finally, he has made his decision to stay in India, but, with a different club.

According to a latest report on Times of India, FC Goa have managed to get the signature of the prolific striker on a 2-years deal, running till the year 2024. There was earlier reports claiming that Kerala Blasters didn't offered what Vazquez was looking for to retain his services.

Vazquez was being looked after by numerous clubs in China, in the United States, notably some Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs and as many as 4 Indian clubs were after his services.

It must be noted that Alvaro Vazquez was FC Goa's one of priority signing last year before they penned deal with Airam Cabrera as they didn't wanted to wait very long for Alvaro's decision. Now the Goa based club has finally landed their man.

FC Goa endured their worst ever performance in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-2022 season, finishing 9th, while goals from their striker Airam was hard to come by and was not so lethal. Cabrera ended up with 6 goals from 13 appearances, that also includes the hat-trick against Kerala Blasters in their concluding league match.
