Reliance Foundation Development League all award winners

The inaugural edition of the Reliance Foundation Development League concluded on the 12th of May with the Bengaluru FC being crowned the invincible champion with a drawn on the last day against Kerala Blasters.

Reliance Youth Sports took the initiative to giving exposure to the up-and-coming youngsters in football with the formation of the Reliance Foundation Development League, that began on the 15th of April.

A total of 8 teams took part in the competition. The 7 reserve teams of Indian Super League clubs Bengaluru FC, Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City, Hyderabad FC, Jamshedpur FC, Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa took part in the competition with Reliance's academy team the Reliance Foundation Young Champs.

And after a great 7 matchday's, it was Bengaluru FC who were crowned champions of the league ahead of Kerala Blasters with 19 points to their name, 3 ahead of Kerala. However, both the top 2 teams will now take part in the NextGen Cup to be played in the UK later this year with youth teams of Premier League clubs.

Now, with this successful conclusion of the league, let's have a look at the award winners of the league.

Champions: Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC became the inaugural Champions of the league, winning a total of 6 matches, while only drawing one match. They ended the season with a tally of 19 points from 7 matches.

Golden Boot: Rahul Raju

Champions team Bengaluru FC's striker Rahul Raju finished the league as the top goalscorer of the league, with a tally of total 7 goals, that also included goals in successive 4 matches and two braces.

Golden Glove: Sachin Suresh

Runners-up club Kerala Blasters' goalkeeper Sachin Suresh lifted the Golden Glove after keeping a total of 6 clean-sheets from 6 appearances in the competition, proving the quality that he has, and has surely impressed the Kerala Blasters Head Coach Ivan Vukomanovic.

Hero of the League: Bekey Oram

Bengaluru FC's midfielder Bekey Oram had a tournament, scoring 4 goals from 7 appearances and was a stalwart for his club in the midfield.
