Indian Super League 2020-2021 Award Winners and Prize Money

The seventh season of the Indian Super League ended last night with a dominant victory in the final for Mumbai City FC against ATK Mohun Bagan.

A 2-1 win ensured Mumbai City FC walk out of Goa with two silverware as won they won the League Winners' Shield by defeating the same team.

Now we take a look at the awards that were presented yesterday and the prize money for both the runners up and the winners.

Winning Pass of the League

The first award was the winning pass of the league which was presented to FC Goa's attacking midfielder Alberto Noguera. It was his first season in India and he managed to fill in the gap that was left open by the departure of Hugo Boumous. Noguera provided 8 assists this season, which is joint highest with Roy Krishna, and also scored 1 goal. He also received rupees 1 lakh.

Golden Glove

The Golden Glove was presented to ATK Mohun Bagan's goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya. Even though he would like to forget the final match, but he had a stellar season in between the sticks as he managed to keep 10 clean-sheet, joint highest with Amrinder. He also received prize money of rupees 2.5 lakh.

Golden Boot

The fight for the Golden Boot went till the last, but at the end of all, FC Goa's striker Igor Angulo won the coveted trophy with 14 goals to his name, joint highest with Roy Krishna. He also received a cash prize of rupees 2.5 lakh.

Emerging Player of the Season

The next one was the emerging player of the season award. The fight for the prize was a good one with youngsters like Apuia Lalengmawia and Akash Mishra being the front-runner. But in the end, Apuia Lalengmawia was named the winner. The NorthEast United youngster had a stellar season in the midfield for the 'Highlanders'. He also received a cash prize of rupees 4 lakh.

Hero of the League

Then came the biggest individual award of the season, the Hero of the League award which was presented to the rightfully deserved player Roy Krishna. The ATK Mohun Bagan player finished as the joint-highest assist provider also the joint highest goalscorer. Roy also received a cash prize of rupees 5 lakh.

Runners-Up

Unfortunately there can be only one winner and that was Mumbai City FC, but ATK Mohun Bagan too had a great season. It was only the debut season of the 'Mariners' in the Indian Super League after merging with former ISL champion ATK. The green and maroon brigade received a cash prize of rupees 4 crores.

Winner

Mumbai City FC players will always remember the Saturday night as the 'Islanders' won their very first Indian Super League trophy. They also won the League Winners' Shield after topping the league table ahead of ATK Mohun Bagan. The City Football Group-owned club received a cash prize of rupees 8 crores for winning the league.
