A total of 83 matches have been completed so far in Hero Indian Super League 2020-2021 season and match number 84 will see Odisha FC host ATK Mohun Bagan at GMC Stadium on 6th February.

Odisha FC

Odisha FC finds themselves at the very bottom of the table and has minimal chances to qualify for the playoff. And a loss here would ensure that they are out of the top four race.

Odisha FC has so far gathered only just eight points from there 14 matches and has a goal difference of -8. Out of those 14 matches, they have lost 8 matches, 5 draws and has only won 1 match so far.

And it has gone on to become worse for the club as the club recently sacked their manager Stuart Baxter after his comments after a loss against Jamshedpur FC. Assistant Head Coach Gerald Peyton, also known as Gerry Peyton, has been appointed as the interim head coach till the end of the season.

While asked about future plans and about the results so far, Gerald Peyton stated, "In the last six games, we're going to show a positive attitude, a determination to win as many games as possible and take the club forward."

He further added, "If you look at nearly all the games we've played, we've been a fraction away (from getting results). It's been one goal in every game and finding that combination to go and win games, I'm sure we are going to find that."

ATK Mohun Bagan

ATK Mohun Bagan suffered a bad patch in their previous matches, they lost to table topper rival Mumbai City FC and NorthEast United but managed to pull off one of the best comebacks in the history of Indian Super League against Kerala Blasters as they won 3-2 while 2-0 down till 57th minute.

ATK Mohun Bagan currently finds themselves in the 2nd position in the points table and are chasing Mumbai City FC for that precious top of the table position and to earn a direct entry into the AFC Champion League group stage for 2022.

ATK Mohun Bagan coach insisted that the team will continue to play as they did in their last few matches and believes that Odisha FC will be a tough opponent, "We have to play against Odisha the same way we play against Mumbai.

"They are in a special situation because the coach is out. Maybe when the team changes or the coach changes, the motivation increases."

Team News:

Both the teams are likely to be without the services of Brad Inman(Odisha FC) and Marcelinho(ATK Mohun Bagan) as both the players are on loan from their opponent team and unless there is a clause(which not known), both player will not be part of the matchday squad.

Steven Taylor won't be available for Odisha FC while ATK Mohun Bagan's midfield general Carl McHugh is also unavailable due to four yellow cards this season.

Head to Head

Both the teams have only played against each only once and it was ATK Mohun Bagan who came out on top with a 1-0 win at home.

Last Meeting:

When the last time both these teams met, it was Roy Krishna's last-second header that helped ATK Mohun Bagan to earn all three points, as the match ended 1-0 in favour of the green and maroon army.
