Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Yesterday Match Results
The Kalinga Super Cup 2024 group stage action kicked-off yesterday with a double header Group A matches. The action unfolded at 2 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST) on Kalinga Stadium pitch 1 when Kolkata based side East Bengal FC faced off against a youthful Hyderabad FC.
East Bengal FC was termed pre-match favourite as they fielded a full strength team while Hyderabad FC had a number of young players. And as expected, East Bengal won the match 3-2, but the young boys from Hyderabad put-in a tough fight.
Cleiton Silva scored the opening goal for East Bengal at the 30th minute of the match, but Hyderabad's Chhungahmar equalized at the 45th minute of the match. East Bengal once again took the lead as Cleiton Silva found the back of the net at the 54th minute of the match, but Nim Dorjee scored from penalty spot to equalized again for Hyderabad FC at the 79th minute of the match.
But their celebration was short-lived as East Bengal finally scored the winner a minute later as Saul Crespo found the back of the net at the 80th minute of the match to get all 3 points.
The 2nd match of the group was once again a Kolkata vs Hyderabad as Mohun Bagan Super Giant from Kolkata faced off against Sreenidi Deccan FC from Hyderabad. It was Sreenidi Deccan FC who scored the first goal of the match from the penalty spot. But, Mohun Bagan came back from behind to score 2 goals and win the match. Jason Cummings scored at the 39th minute while Armando Sadiku scored at the 71st minute.
It was a Mohun Bagan team that missed a several of starting Indian players, starting from goalkeeper Vishal Kaith, Sahal Abdul Samad, Anirudh Thapa etc. As thus, interim head coach Clifford Miranda had to field a number of young players.

Now coming to Kalinga Super Cup matches today, it is going to be another double-header as Group B teams will be in action today. We will kicks-off the day's action on Kalinga Stadium pitch 1 when Kerala Blasters FC will take on the I-League side Shillong Lajong FC from 2 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST).
The group B action will continue at 7:30 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST) when NorthEast United FC will then take on the Jamshedpur FC side in the 2nd match of Group B.
