East Bengal FC set to sign Iago Falque Silva

If multiple reports are to be believed, Indian Super League (ISL) side East Bengal FC is set to sign former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus youth product Iago Falque Silva in the January transfer window.

Goal scoring has been a massive problem for the Red and Gold brigade from Kolkata, East Bengal FC, as the Carles Cuadrat led team has managed to score only 11 goals from 10 matches in the Indian Super League 2023-2024 season.

Club captain Cleiton Silva is the top goal scorer for the club. The Brazilian talisman has scored 5 goals from 10 appearances in the Indian Super League 2023-2024 season. Nandha Kumar Sekar and Naorem Mahesh Singh are the next best with 2 goals each.

With the league football currently now on a break because of the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2023 event starting from 12th January, the focus for club football in India shifts to the Kalinga Super Cup 2024, starting from the 8th January with the qualifier match between Inter Kashi and Rajasthan United while the main competition begins from 9th January with group stage matches.
