With the I-League reportedly set to start from October, all the I-League clubs are looking to further strengthen their squad in a bid to get promoted to the Indian Super League next season. Punjab FC is the first team to get promoted from Indian Super League after winning the I-League last season.

Mohammedan SC didn't had a great outing in the Hero I-League last season, sacking their head coach Andrey Chernyshov and then Kibu Vicuna before appointing Mehrajuddin Wadoo as the head coach, who saw off the season.

The team this season has been in guidance of Wadoo, under whom they did really well in the Durand Cup and missed out on the quarter-finals by just 1 goal. Later, due to some issues between the club official and Wadoo, the club sacked him and have once again brought Andrey Chernyshov back as the head coach of the team.

The club is once again targetting to win the I-League this season and have so far done some great signings. However, they have further added strength to the squad for the season with the addition of Eddie Hernandez.

Eddie Hernandez is a 32-years-old Honduras international striker. Eddie has a huge experience of playing in leagues across the world. Eddie has played in Honduras, Iran top tier, China 2nd tier, Mexican 2nd tier, Kazakhstan top tier and Colombian top tier. Other than that, he has also played in the CONCACAF Champions League. His vast experience will be crucial for the Mohammedan SC side in their bid for promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL) next season.
