SAFF U16 Championship 2023; List of Award Winners and Prize Money
After the Indian senior football team beat Kuwait in the final of the SAFF Championship 2023 to win the competition, the Indian U16 football team did the same on the 10th of September beating Bangladesh in the final of the SAFF U16 Championship 2023.
The Indian football team was grouped with Bangladesh and Nepal in the SAFF U16 Championship in the group stage. The Indian team won both the matches by just 1-0 scoreline with Thoungamba Singh and Mohammed Arbash scoring the goals respectively.
In the semi-final of the tournament, the Indian team clicked even better to score 8 goals past Maldives. In the final, India once again met Bangladesh. This time, Team India scored two goals against the Bangla Tigers to seal the title. Bharat Leirenjam and Levis Zangminlun scored the two goals for India in the final.
