For the last couple of days, there was a huge row going on about the Indian football team squad that will travel to China to participate in the Asian Games 2023. With the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-2024 season starting from the 21st of September, the clubs were reluctant to release the players outside of the international window.

According to a latest update on RevSportz, the top officials of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) for the last couple of days have had very good negotiations after which, it has been decided that Indian team captain Sunil Chhetri will lead the team in the Asian Games 2023 in China. The report says that the decision has been taken in national interest.

With Sunil Chhetri set to lead the team, Indian team head coach Igor Stimac is also expected to lead the team in China.
