After Mumbai City FC's defeat in the AFC Champions League 2023-2024 season opener against FC Nassaji Mazandaran, it is now time for the AFC Cup, with two Indian clubs Odisha FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant going up against each other in the season opener in Bhuvaneswar.

Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, the ISL 2022-2023 Champion had to beat Hyderabad FC in a playoff match to qualify for preliminary rounds of the tournament, where they beat Macchindra and Dhaka Abahani to qualify for the group stage.
