The AFC Champions League is the Asia's biggest football competition that sees various teams from various parts of Asia go head to head in the Champions League for the right to call themselves the best of Asia.
AFC Champions League, organised by Asian Football Confederation (AFC), was founded in the year 1967 as the Asian Champion Club Tournament, which was later renamed as Asian Club Championship, and finally in the year 2002, it once again rebranded as the AFC Champions League.
Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv won the first season of the Asian Champion Club Tournament when the Israeli clubs were playing in the competition. South Korean club Daewoo Royals won first season after the league was renamed to Asian Club Championship and then it was UAE's Al-Ain who won the first season after the tournament was rebranded as AFC Champions League.
