After a battle of more than 6 months, we have the winner of the Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2022-2023 season as ATK Mohun Bagan beat Bengaluru FC by penalties in the Hero ISL 2022-2023 Final to be crowned the champion of India.
The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-2023 season of the Indian football top tier league began on the 7th of October with the hosts Kerala Blasters beating the East Bengal FC side in the opening match of the season.
And now after a tussle between all 11 teams in the league and a battle of more than 6 months, we finally have our Hero ISL 2022-2023 winners, ATK Mohun Bagan.
Mumbai City FC won the ISL League Winners' Shield as they topped the points table with 46 points in 20 matches. However, they lost to the Bengaluru FC in the Semi-Final of the Hero ISL 2022-2023 Playoffs. It was in the end between Bengaluru FC and ATK Mohun Bagan, who beat Hyderabad FC in the semi-final.

ATK Mohun Bagan started the league with a defeat against the Chennaiyin FC at home but then went to Kerala and hit them 5 goals. They got some good results to their favour until they were dealt number of injury blow and the results turned upside down. They had to bring in number of reinforcements in January transfer window and eventually made it to the Hero ISL Playoffs.
How the ATK Mohun Bagan vs Bengaluru FC match went
The match was a intense battle between the two teams. It was the ATK Mohun Bagan who scored the opening goal but Bengaluru FC who scored 2 goals to take the lead. One goal right at the end of the first half and the other one at the 78th minute. But Dimitri Petratos scored his 2nd goal of the match at the 85th minute once again from penalty spot.
The match went on to the extra-time and eventually to the penalty shootout which ATK Mohun Bagan won 4-3 to be crowned the Hero Indian Super League 2022-2023 Champion.

The Hero ISL 2022-2023 Emerging Player of the Season award went to Bengaluru FC's young forward Sivasakthi Narayanan. Despite starting the season as a bench player, he booked his place as the starting forward ahead of club captain Sunil Chhetri and scored 6 goals and 2 assists in 17 appearance in League Stage. He also got a 4 Lakh INR cash prize.
Hero ISL Golden Glove winner (Best Goalkeeper of the Season)
The Hero Indian Super League 2022-2023 Golden Glove award went to ATK Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Vishal Kaith. Despite starting the season a little off the mark, but he improved himself over the season and kept a total 9 clean sheets in the league stage and conceded 17 goals. He also received a cash prize of 2.5 Lakh INR.
Hero ISL 2022-2023 Golden Boot winner (Top Goalscorer of the Season)
The Hero Indian Super League 2022-2023 Golden Boot or the Top Goalscorer of the Season award went to Odisha FC's prolific Brazilian striker Diego Mauricio. Diego was the leading goalscorer of the season as he finished the campaign with 12 goals, joint top with East Bengal's Cleiton Silva, however, Diego Mauricio played less game time than Silva. He also got a cheque of 2.5 Lakh INR.
ISL Hero of the League 2022-2023 (Golden Ball winner)
The Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-2023 Hero of the League or the Golden Ball award went to star Indian forward Lallianzuala Chhangte of Mumbai City FC. The prolific winger bagged 10 goals and 6 assists in the 20 league appearances. Mumbai also finished top of the points table because of which. He also bagged a cash cheque of 5 Lakh INR.

It was a start to the season that had everyone had already ruled out the club making it to the Hero ISL Playoffs. But come the year 2023, the Bengaluru FC turned its fortune around like a whirlwind and eventually finished 4th in the points table. They even beat the League Shield winners Mumbai City FC couple of times this season. Bengaluru FC is the runners of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-2023 season and they also received a cash prize of 3 Crore INR.

ATK Mohun Bagan, the national club of India have finally have their hands on the coveted Indian Super League (ISL) Trophy. The team had started the season well before a number of injury took their campaign off the track. Some mid-season transfers finally got them back on track and eventually finished 3rd on the ISL points table. They got past Hyderabad FC in the penalty shootout in the semi-final and another penalty shootout in the final to finally lift the Trophy. The team not only got to hold the ISL Trophy, but they also got a cash cheque of 6 Crore INR.
