In what is the most shocking transfer of the season, former Kerala Blasters FC forward Jorge Pereyra Diaz has officially agreed to join the 1 time ISL Champions Mumbai City FC for the upcoming season.

Just when you thought the transfer market cannot blow you away, Mumbai City FC have struck a deal that has left everyone of the Indian football surprised and shocked at the dealing.

Mumbai City FC has today officially confirmed that former Kerala Blasters FC forward and fan favourite Jorge Pereyra Diaz will be donning the Mumbai's blue for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.

Jorge Diaz was on loan at Kerala Blasters FC last season from Argentine club Platense. He was a star in Kerala's campaign last season that saw them reach the final of the ISL 2021-2022.

Kerala Blasters management had been trying hard, holding several negotiation with Platense to sign the player permanently. However, it got difficult for the Blasters to crack the deal and they announced that Jorge Diaz won't be returning to the team.

There were rumours of Saudi based club who had agreed term to sign Diaz. However, on the evening of 20th July, Mumbai City FC shocked everyone and announced that they have agreed terms with Diaz however it is subject to medical.

Jorge Pereyra Diaz started his career with Club Ferro Carril Oeste youth team. He signed for Malaysian giant Johor Darul Ta'zim and several loan stints to Independiente and Club León FC in Mexico. Other than that, he has also played for Bolívar La Paz and CD San Marcos de Arica in Chile.

Mumbai City FC has done so far a great work in the transfer market, picking the valuable signature of Hero of League winner and Jamshedpur FC midfielder Greg Stewart. Alberto Noguera from FC Goa, Rostyn Griffiths from Melbourne City FC are some other valuable additions.
