Jamshedpur FC set to appoint former England youth team coach Aidy Boothroyd

The search for Owen Coyle's predecessor at the Jamshedpur FC is now over as the club has now finally signed a very experienced Englishman in Aidy Boothroyd for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.

Jamshedpur FC had a quite the season in the Indian Super League last time around, winning the League Winners' Shield, but suffered a defeat against the Kerala Blasters and couldn't make it to the final of the playoffs stage.

It was quite the fairytale run for Jamshedpur, who kept faith in their manager Owen Coyle, who brought success to the club. However, after winning the league, the Scotsman decided to stay close to his native and will be managing in Scotland this coming season.

However, Jamshedpur FC are bringing in quite a worthy replacement in former England youth teams manager Aidy Boothroyd. A report on 90min earlier confirmed about the signing.

The Englishman managed the youth projects at his last club Peterborough United. After that, he was in role of various youth projects at various clubs. But, he made his true mark with the Watford team.

After being appointed the club's manager in 2005, he took a relegation favourite Watford FC to the playoffs of the Championship 2005-2006 season and beat Leeds United in the final to achieve promotion to the Premier League.

However, they came back straight down to Championship next season, but, Boothroyd still had great season, reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup that season. He left Watford in 2008 after a defeat against Blackpool.

Other than Watford FC, Boothroyd also managed Colchester United, Coventry City and Northampton Town before bagging a job as the England youth team manager, managing the U19, U20 and U21 sides.
