India, as a nation is going through a bad patch of time at the moment with COVID-19 cases raising daily, but Indian Super League clubs have started their team building work for next season behind the scenes.
Indian Super League club Odisha FC announced yesterday that the club has appointed former FC Barcelona striker David Villa as the Global Football Advisor and will handle club's global football operation.

But who is this David Villa ? Why there's so much hype about him ? Today, IndianFootballNews will take you on the Spanish footballer's journey in his career.
Born in Langreo in 3rd December, 1981, he started his football journey with local club Unión Popular de Langreo. In the year 1998, he joined Sporting de Gijón youth setup.
After impressing in the youth ranks of the team, he made his first-team debut during the 2000-2001 season. After his two full season playing Sporting de Gijón in the Segunda Division, he amassed a total of 38 goals.
He joined La Liga with newly promoted team Real Zaragoza in the year 2003 and guided the team to a 12th place finish with the Spaniard scoring 17 goals that season. The very next season, he scorer 15 goals before joining the Valencia in summer 2005.
During his first season itself playing for Spanish heavyweight Valencia, David Villa scored 25 goals in the league, just one short if winning the league's top goal scorer award, which was eventually won by Barcelona player Samuel Eto'o.
Villa's number of total 107 goals in 5 seasons for Valencia, attracted interest from FC Barcelona and finally in the summer of 2010, David Villa signed a 4 year contract with FC Barcelona.
Villa spent three seasons at the Camp Nou and scored 33 goals in 77 appearances in the La Liga before jumping over to Spain's capital to join Atletico Madrid. But after just spending one season, he left the team.
In the summer of 2014, MLS' new franchise New York City announced David Villa as the club's first signing, but as the club was supposed to join the league from 2015, he was sent on loan to A-League side Melbourne City where he scored only 2 goals in 4 appearances.
He spent four seasons in the America playing the in the MLS for New York City and was banging in goals for fun. In total of 117 appearance in the league, he scored 77 goals. He jumped shift to Asia the very next year as he joined Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
David Villa had a glorious career and international career is no exception to that. The Spaniard has won prestigious trophies like the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 2008 UEFA European Championship etc.
Villa made his Spain debut in the year 2005 and made his last appearance in the year 2017, and by the time he made his last appearance for Spain, he was Spain all-time top goal-scorer, achieving it back in 2011. The record is still being held by David Villa in 2021.
David Villa also owns a club in the America that is known as the Queensboro FC and will participate in the USL Championship, the 2nd tier of American football. The club though will begin operating from 2022.
