The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the governing body of football in Asia, today announced the venues for the upcoming edition of the AFC Champions League as Indian side FC Goa will host their matches in India.
FC Goa to play AFC Champion League Group Stage Matches in India
The AFC today announced the venues for the 2021 season of the AFC Champions League. FC Goa, who will be playing in the Champions League group stage, will host all of their group matches in Goa, India.
FC Goa became the first Indian team to qualify directly for the AFC Champions League group stage after topping the Indian Super League's league stage in 2019-2020 season.
And in their first season itself, they have been announced as the host of their group.
The AFC earlier announced that all of the matches of the Champions League and AFC Cup group stage will be held in a centralised venue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier it was announced that ATK Mohun Bagan, who will be playing in the AFC Cup group stage, will play all of their group stage matches in the Maldives.
While the West region matches will be played from 14th April till 30th April, the East region matches have been postponed to June, July.
