The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) club Hyderabad FC, who are going through a major revamp ahead of the new season, is looking to secure the services of the 32-years-old former Finland international central-midfielder Petteri Pennanen.

After parting ways with their most successful coach Manolo Marquez (who joined FC Goa ahead of the new season), Hyderabad FC have announced a major revamp into the team ahead of the new season.

With coach Manolo Marquez gone, Hyderabad FC are rebuilding the team with their Technical Director Thangboi Singto to be the head coach for the new season.

Hyderabad FC have decided to almost let go of all their foreign players with only captain Joao Victor having an existing contract till 2024 and there is still nothing confirm about their star striker Bartholomew Ogbeche.

And in their pursuit to replace the outgoing midfielder Borja Herrera, Hyderabad FC is looking to sign the former Finland international central-midfielder Petteri Pennanen.

Petteri is the 32-years-old midfielder who is currently contracted with Ilves in the Finnish league. According to a report by the Footy Transfers Around India, Hyderabad FC is set to sign the Finnish midfielder who had a clause in his contract to move abroad and pre-agreed amount has been met between both the sides.

In the ongoing Finnish league Veikkausliiga season, Pennanen has featured in 12 matches and has scored 4 goals. In the Suomen Cup, he has further scored 3 fails and 1 assist and a further 1 goal in the Liigacup.

Hyderabad FC missed out on the opportunity to progress to the final of the Indian Super League 2022-2023 season after losing to ATK Mohun Bagan in the semi-final on penalty shootout. They finished 2nd in the regular season behind champions Mumbai City FC.

Hyderabad FC have seen a number of outgoing transfers so far this season, including their star left-back Akash Mishra, who has joined Mumbai City FC, Halicharan Narzary, who has joined Bengaluru FC. Foreigners Borja Herrera and Javi Siverio have joined East Bengal while defender Odei Onaindia have followed the footsteps of coach Manolo Marquez to join FC Goa.

Other than that, Sweden Fernandes, Rohit Danu, Amritpal Singh have all joined Chennaiyin FC, Bengaluru FC and Rajasthan United respectively. Australian Joel Chianese has also left the team and yet to sign for a team.

As for the incomings, they have so far acquired Vignesh Dakshinamurthy as part of the deal for Akash Mishra while they have signed Croatian striker Jonathan Moya. The club is also reportedly chasing Makan Winkle Chote and Joe Knowles to sign for the upcoming season.
