Indian Super League club Odisha FC has today confirmed the official deal with Mumbai City FC for a season long loan deal for the Mumbai's midfielder Raynier Fernandes.

Odisha FC has been very much active in the transfer window as they look to improve on their last season's 7th place finish and look to march on towards the top 4 finish and maybe even challenge for both the Trophies up for grab.

As they look to take a step forward, the Odisha based Indian Super League club has completed a season long loan deal for the Mumbai City FC midfielder Raynier Fernandes.

Raynier Fernandes didn't get much game time last season with the presence of Apuia, Ahmed Jahouh and Vinit Rai in the midfield. The local Mumbai lad only appeared in 16 matches for the Mumbai City FC and started only 6 matches.

He didn't even get to play a single match in what was a very successful AFC Champions League campaign for the Islanders. With his contract running out next year, Mumbai City have decided to loan him out to Odisha FC for the season.

As for Raynier Fernandes, the 26-years-old started his career with the Air India Football Club before making a move to Mohun Bagan in 2016. He was part of the Mariners for 2 seasons before making the switch to his local club Mumbai City FC in 2018.

He played a total of 27 matches for the Mohun Bagan including the likes of I-League and AFC Cup. He played a total of 76 matches for the Mumbai City FC before his move to Odisha FC this season.

He has also made 5 appearances for the Indian team, making his debut against Curacao and last featured for the Blue Tigers in 2021 against UAE.

Odisha FC has been very active in the transfer market so far. They have brought in former manager Joseph Gombau for the season as Head Coach, while former player Carlos Delgado has also rejoined the team. Osama Malik fills in their AFC quota slot. As for the domestic signing, they have brought in the services of Michael Soosairaj, Narendra Gehlot, while has lost the services of goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh and Gaurav Bora are notable exits.
