With the transfers ramping up, Indian Super League club and ISL 2019-2020 League Winners' Shield winners FC Goa have reached a total agreement with Spanish forward Iker Guarrotxena on a multi-year deal, as per reports.
Reports earlier stated that Iker Guarrotxena has attracted at least from 2 Indian Super League clubs and various clubs in Europe. Iker, who currently turns out for the UD Logroñés in the Segunda Division of Spanish league pyramid, is now said to have agreed on a multi-year deal with FC Goa.
According to a latest report on Khel Now, the Spaniard winger has reached an agreement with FC Goa on a multi-year deal, beating multiple European clubs.
Iker Guarrotxena is a versatile player, who mainly plays as a left-winger, but is also very comfortable up-front as a striker and can also run down the right side.
Guarrotxena came through the youth system at Athletic Bilbao and has featured for Spanish clubs such as CD Tenerife, CD Mirandés, CyD Leonesa. He has also played in Poland for 2 years for Pogon Szczecin before making a move to join former FC Goa boss Juan Ferrando's side Volos in Greece.
He also has experience of playing in Asia, having played for Western United for half the season in 2021 before linking-up with his current team UD Logroñés, with whom his contract expires in June. He played a key role in the team's performance, scoring 14 goals and 3 assists in total 39 appearances throughout the season.
FC Goa transfer news
So far, FC Goa have focused much more on contract renewal of their existing players with Edu Bedia, Seriton Fernandes to name a few. They reportedly bagged the services of former Kerala Blasters striker Alvaro Vazquez on a multi-year deal.
FC Goa were lacking a complete goal scorer upfront last season, with main striker Airam Cabrera failing to live-up to the expectation. Thus, this season, Goa have gone all guns blazing to get a solid man upfront.
