Marcelinho Leite Pereira, well known as Marcelino is a well established name in Indian Football scenes. He arrived in India 2016, and only in 2021 he has agreed a deal with a Brazilian side to play for them.

On 23rd April, Campeonato Paulista Série A2, the 2nd tier of Sao Paulo's regional league, side Esporte Clube Taubaté confirmed the signing of the Brazilian playmaker who has made a name playing in India.

Marcelinho have mentioned multiple times that he has fallen in love with India and would consider playing in India as long as possible.

And on 24th April, Saturday, Marcelinho took to his tweeter handle and tweeted that the league his current plays in is a short length league and after that, he would be available for a return to India again.

He posted, "Bit your tongue if you say I left India. I am playing near home, the league is short here, end of season i am available again for ISL."

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Marcelinho came through the rank of one of the most famous Brazilian side Flamengo's youth academy. He joined Atletico Madrid's B-team in 2006 and only after half a year, he was let go on free transfer to Getafe in January.

He returned to Brazil signing for Esporte Clube Vitória after not getting opportunity for the Spanish sides.

He joined Delhi Dynamos for Indian Super League 2016 edition, and his debut season in India was nothing short of a spectacular season. In 13 appearance in the league phase he scored 13 goals and 4 assists, thus won the Golden Boot.

After the stint with Delhi Dynamos, he played for FC Pune City, Hyderabad FC, Odisha FC and ATK Mohun Bagan.

But his current season was not the best. He joined Odisha FC during the summer window, but due to lack of game time, Marcelinho moved to ATK Mohun Bagan during the January transfer window. In total 14 appearance in the 2020-2021 Indian Super League league phase, he scored only 2 goals.
