Indian Super League club ATK Mohun Bagan has today confirmed the arrival of the Hyderabad FC's right-back Asish Rai on a multi-year deal that runs until 2027.
After a several departure confirmed, the Green and Maroon side from the Kolkata has today confirmed its 2nd arrival this season as Asish Rai joins the team after midfielder Lalrinliana Hnamte was announced weeks ago.
The club had been chasing the services of the right-back for a long time, but finally managed to complete the deal for an undisclosed fee with the defending champions Hyderabad FC.
Asish Rai was a very important member of the Hyderabad FC and its run for the Indian Super League glory, winning the Trophy by beating Kerala Blasters in penalty shootout in the final. Asish made a total of 16 appearances for Hyderabad and contributed with Assists and his forward runs.
His performance attracted interest from number of Indian Super League clubs, but ATK Mohun Bagan have always been on the front for his signature.
Asish, a boy who hails from Sikkim, started his journey with the FC Pune City (now a defunct club) academy and had several loan spells with the Indian Arrows team before signing for Hyderabad FC in 2019, who replaced FC Pune City in the competition.
Throughout his career, he has played 46 matches so far in the Indian Super League and has scored 1 goal and 7 assists.
ATK Mohun Bagan transfer news
ATK Mohun Bagan have so far a number of departures from the club, the likes of their star striking partner Roy Krishna and David Williams joining Michael Soosairaj, Bidyananda Singh among quite a few others.
However, they have so far announced only 2 signing, Asish Rai included, those are Rai and Lalrinliana Hnamte. He are said to have also completed the signing of an Australia player, but nothing known yet about the player.
