After the semi-final 1 2nd leg match between the Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Odisha FC, it has been just confirmed that the ISL 2023-2024 season finale will be held at the iconic Vivekanand Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK), also known as Salt Lake Stadium, after Mohun Bagan beat Odisha FC 2-0 in Kolkata and 3-2 on aggregate over the two-legs.

Note that Mohun Bagan Super Giant won the Indian Super League (ISL) League Winners' Shield for finishing at the top of the ISL league table, as a result, they have outright become the host for the ISL 2023-2024 season final to be played on the 4th of May, and will be played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK).

Talking about the match, it was an action-packed match at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, where the Mohun Bagan fans completely packed the house with over 62 thousand attendance.

Coming into the match, Mohun Bagan was trailing in the tie after losing the 1st-leg 2-1 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Mohun Bagan got into the action early as their star summer signing Jason Cummings put the hosts in lead of the match at the 22nd minute of the match.

It was thanks to a fumbled clearance from Odisha's goalkeeper Amrinder Singh, who rather than clearing the ball away, put it on feet of Jason Cummings, who made no mistake to put it at the back of the net to make 1-0 at the night and 2-2 on aggregate.

Both teams created further opportunities, but in the end, when almost both the teams were ready-ing themselves for the extra-time, that when Mohun Bagan's another star summer signing Sahal Abdul Samad bagged not only the match winning goal, but also the goal to seal the tie 3-2 over two-legs as Mohun Bagan won 2-0 at home.

Sahal Abdul Samad, just like the previous goal for Mohun Bagan, capitalised on the mistake of Amrinder Singh and due-ly slotted the ball at the back of the net at the 3rd minute of the additional-time of the 7 minutes added-on.

With this win, Mohun Bagan Super Giant have now qualified for the ISL Cup Final for the 2nd-year in a row. After winning the ISL Cup last season, the team has another opportunity to lift the Trophy, either the winner of the semi-final 2 between Mumbai City FC and FC Goa, where the former lead 3-2 after scoring 3 goals in the additional times after Goa leading the match the entire 90 minutes.
