The Indian football season 2023-2024 season transfer window has officially begun earlier this month on the 9th of June and things have been happening very quickly, with some big deals already done and announced. But one of the most talked about transfer rumour this window has been about Kerala Blasters' Sahal Abdul Samad.

The Indian national football team midfielder Sahal Abdul Samad has been a very focal point of the Indian team's stunning performance in the last couple of matches such as the Tri-Nation series, the Intercontinental Cup and the ongoing SAFF Championship 2023.

Sahal has made most of the chances he got as Indian team's preferred attacking-midfielder Brandon Fernandes has been unavailable for selection due personal reasons.

Born in Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sahal Abdul Samad started his career with the Al-Ethihad Football Academy before joining the Kerala Blasters reserve team in 2017. After some good outings for the 2nd XI, Sahal was promoted to the first team of the Blasters and has been since established himself as a top midfielder not only for the club but also in the Indian football team.

Sahal Abdul Samad transfer news

After being with the team for more than 5 years, it seems Kerala Blasters FC is now ready to part ways with their poster boy, who has been mentioned to be on the market if a club offers a suitable fee for the attacking-midfielder.

And now as per reports by Khel Now TV, Kerala Blasters FC have received enquiries from Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Bengaluru FC while other heavyweight and defending ISL League Shield Winners Mumbai City FC is keeping track of the development.

As per multiple transfer rumours, Kerala Blasters and Mohun Bagan have been in contact this summer for the transfer of Mohun Bagan captain Pritam Kotal, and in turns, the Green and Maroon side had asked for Sahal to be included in a swap deal, however the Blasters turned that down.

Now, if reports are to be believed, Kerala Blasters are desperate to land Mohun Bagan captain and is ready to offer their young defender Hormipam Ruivah. However, Mohun Bagan also wants to do the deal for Sahal and if a term is not reached between both the clubs for the player, it is likely that they will also not sanction the move of their captain the other way.

As for Bengaluru FC, they are also looking to strengthen their midfield and Sahal Samad could be a great addition into the club. However as per the report, despite strong interest from both Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC, there is nothing advanced yet and Mumbai City FC is also keeping track of the situation but is yet to show a strong interest.
