When is winter transfer window in India?

The summer window was open in India from 9th June till the 31st August. The winter transfer window, or basically the January transfer window starts from 1st January and runs till 31st January. Note that, teams can still sign players so are free agents (not contracted with a player) outside the transfer window.

What is a Transfer Window in Football?

A transfer window is basically a period when the football clubs are allowed sign and sell player they feel doesn't fit in their playing style. There are normally two transfer windows in a football season, the summer transfer window that is from June and August and the winter transfer window in January 1st till 31st January, the same is the case in Indian football as well.
