Here's Why Apuia is a Huge Asset for NorthEast United FC

The Hero Indian Super League season 7 came to an end on 13th March with Mumbai City FC coming out as champions after defeating debutant ATK Mohun Bagan in the Final.

Here's Why Apuia is a Huge Asset for NorthEast United FC

The season seven of the Indian Super League will be remembered for a long time as many Indian players stepped up their game, the big example being Manvir Singh for ATK Mohun Bagan, Ishan Pandita for FC Goa and Bipin Singh for Mumbai City FC.

But not only the senior players but even the youngsters proved that they are not behind anyone. With the likes of Akash Mishra, Liston Colaco, Mohammad Yasir, Apuia (also known as Lalengmawia) and Amey Ranawade and many more.

Of all of them, Apuia Lalengmawia proved to be the biggest star. The NorthEast United midfielder won the Emerging Player of the League award after his spectacular display of football in the midfield. And as a result of that, he got called up to the Indian national football team's squad for the friendly matches against Oman and UAE.

The NorthEast United midfielder is the most promising young talent in India at the moment. Here's why we think that Apuia Lalengmawia is a huge asset for NorthEast United FC.

Apuia's presence in the midfield for NorthEast United ensured that 'The Highlanders' reach the Indian Super League playoffs for the 2nd time in their history.

If he stays with the NorthEastern side, that will only be beneficial for the club. His presence will allow NorthEast United management to consider foreign player in other different positions. While they will have to pay less salary to him than they have to pay to a foreign player.

The other way that NorthEast United could use him as is to generate fund. NorthEast United is the most financially struggling team in Indian Super League history.

The youngster has caught the eyes of a lot of top teams of the league such as Mumbai City FC, ATK Mohun Bagan and FC Goa.

And if the reports are to be believed, all of the clubs are even ready to pay a transfer fee for the midfielder. Of all of them, ATK Mohun Bagan is likely to pay them more transfer fee than the other two teams.

If the reports from West Bengal is to be believed, ATK Mohun Bagan is ready to pay from 1 crore to 1.5 crore as transfer fee, which is more than enough for NorthEast United to either invest in their first team or their youth academy.

So all in all, Apuia Lalengmawia is set to be a huge asset for the NorthEast United team in the coming days.
